A syringe mark is a volume reading
Research reference only. Source-reported examples and schedules are not dosing recommendations from MGMT Research. They do not establish safety or suitability. Prescribed medication decisions belong with a licensed clinician and the current product label.
Read the scale first
U-100 means 100 units per mL. A 500 mcg amount occupies 0.2 mL at 2.5 mg/mL, 0.1 mL at 5 mg/mL, or 0.05 mL at 10 mg/mL: respectively 20, 10 and 5 U-100 units.
Work backwards when needed
For U-100, divide units by 100 to obtain mL, then multiply by concentration for mass. At 50 units, the volume is 0.5 mL: 1.25 mg at 2.5 mg/mL or 2.5 mg at 5 mg/mL. Other syringe scales require their own factor.
