BAC water: composition and calculation
Research reference only. Source-reported examples and schedules are not dosing recommendations from MGMT Research. They do not establish safety or suitability. Prescribed medication decisions belong with a licensed clinician and the current product label.
What the diluent contributes
Bacteriostatic water contains a preservative; sterile water for injection does not. These products are not interchangeable simply because the arithmetic is identical. Use the diluent specified for the product.
Volume is the calculation input
Adding 1, 2 or 3 mL changes concentration without changing the vial’s total mass. Record the puncture date and follow the specific container’s storage and discard instructions. Preservative does not guarantee that an accessed vial remains sterile.
